The Indian team will go on Tuesday with the intention of winning the T20 series against Sri Lanka. India's winning combination is unlikely to change after beating Sri Lanka by 38 runs in the first encounter. However, if the team management decides to rest Prithvi Shaw and Suryakumar Yadav, who have been selected for the Test tour in Britain, then there could be changes in the team. The second match in Colombo will be played from 8.00 PM IST.

It is also expected that Prithvi Shaw and Suryakumar Yadav will play at least in today's match and they may be rested from the final match in case India win the series. Devdutt Padikkal and Rituraj Gaikwad may be preferred over poor-form Manish Pandey in case there is a change in plan.

On Tuesday, eyes will be on Samson, who has high hopes, but whenever he got a chance to play in the Indian jersey, he failed to live up to these expectations. Samson got enough opportunities to bat in the top order, but despite this, he could only score runs in 8 matches at an average of 13.75. Samson's road is not going to be easy with this performance considering the talented players coming up.

In terms of performance, Rishabh Pant has left Samson far behind, while Ishan Kishan has also performed effectively when given limited opportunities. KL Rahul is also an option as a wicketkeeper in limited overs cricket and in such a situation, Samson does not have much time to impress with his performance.

National Cricket Academy (NCA) director Rahul Dravid also has high hopes from Samson and if he fails to score big in the next two matches, this series could prove to be his last chance.

Hardik Pandya's batting form is also a matter of concern for the team, who has failed to impress against Sri Lanka so far. He has bowled fine, but he has failed to bowl like he did before the back surgery.

Indian bowlers performed brilliantly in the first match. Yuzvendra Chahal and Varun Chakraborty will try to impress once again. Both of them are posing a challenge for the place of the wrist spinner in the team.

With more than 20 players expected to be selected for the T20 World Cup to be held in the UAE, both Chakraborty and Chahal are likely to find a place in the squad. Sri Lanka will be a tougher challenge in T20 series than in ODIs as they do not have the players to change the course of the match by playing big shots consistently.

Charith Asalanka had tried to put pressure on India with a knock of 44 runs in the first match, but the inexperience of Dasun Shanaka's team of crucial occasions showed. The team lost the last six wickets on Monday adding just 15 runs.

The teams are as follows -

India: Shikhar Dhawan (captain), Prithvi Shaw, Devdutt Padikkal, Rituraj Gaikwad, Suryakumar Yadav, Manish Pandey, Hardik Pandya, Nitish Rana, Ishan Kishan, Sanju Samson, Yuzvendra Chahal, Rahul Chahar, K Gautam, Krunal Pandya, Kuldeep Yadav, Varun Chakraborty, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Deepak Chahar, Navdeep Saini, Chetan Sakaria.
