IND vs SL | Corona has put the brakes on the limited overs series between India and Sri Lanka starting on July 13. The series' schedule has been changed after Sri Lanka's batting coach Grant Flower and data analyst GT Niroshan tested positive for COVID-19. The first one-day match to be played on July 13 will now be held on July 17. India has to play a series of three ODIs and three T20 matches on this tour. In the absence of senior players like Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Shikhar Dhawan has been given the responsibility of captain on this tour.

Sri Lanka's batting coach Grant Flower and data analyst GT Niroshan have tested positive for COVID-19 after returning from the UK, forcing the Sri Lanka Cricket Board to extend the strict three-day quarantine. Confirming the reschedule of the series, a senior official of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) told PTI, "Yes, the series will now start from July 17 instead of July 13." Keeping in mind the safety of the players, this decision has been taken only in consultation with Sri Lanka Cricket.

After talking to sources in Sri Lanka Cricket, it has been learned that the new dates are still being discussed after consultation with the BCCI. The tentative dates for the 50-over matches are likely to be July 17, 19 and 21, while the three-match T20I series is likely to begin on July 24. "We are discussing some options on the new date of the event," a Sri Lanka board source said. As per the pre-determined schedule, the series was to start from the ODI phase on July 13 with the next two matches scheduled for July 16 and 18. The T20 International matches were to be held on 21, 23 and 25 July. The second-rate Indian team led by Shikhar Dhawan has completed its strict quarantine and the team is training in Colombo. Sri Lanka Board source said that all Sri Lankan players who returned from Britain have come negative.
