Cricket | Indian players Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma, two former captains of Team India and among the world's legendary batsmen, are considered to be leaving the T20 format forever. Team India's coach Rahul Dravid has indicated this. At present, neither of the two players is a part of Team India's T20 squad. If Rohit Sharma is injured, Virat Kohli has been rested for the time being. But now it is believed that both these players will not return to Team India's T20 brigade.

Pointing to this, team coach Rahul Dravid said after the match played between India and Sri Lanka that our focus is on the World Cup. He said that the T20 team will be prepared keeping in mind the T20 World Cup to be held in 2024. For this, we will have more emphasis on the fact that the senior players of the team play more ODI cricket and pay attention to it. He told that this decision has been taken keeping in mind the 50 over World Cup to be held this year.

Dravid indicated in gestures

However, during his post match briefing, he did not name either Rohit or Kohli. But it was made clear in gestures that now only young blood will get a place in the T20 team. This shows that the team management has now started thinking for the future.

The team's chief coach Rahul Dravid said, 'Out of the players who played in the semi-final match in the 2022 T20 World Cup, only 3-4 players are playing in the current T20 team. This situation is slightly different because our focus is on the next T20 World Cup. Our young team played against Sri Lanka and it was a great experience.

He said, 'It is a good thing that now a lot of attention is being paid to the World Test Championship and the ODI World Cup. That's why we are giving chance to young boys in T20. Let us tell you that in the semi-finals of the last T20 World Cup, Team India had to face defeat and after that the discussion started about Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma's career in T20. Now looking at the plans of the team management, it seems that these two veteran players may not be able to return to T20 cricket.
