Lok Sabha: The Jammu and Kashmir Reservation (Amendment) Bill, 2023 and the Jammu and Kashmir Reorganization Bill, 2023 were discussed in the Lok Sabha on Wednesday. During the discussion, Home Minister Amit Shah expressed sympathy for the people displaced from Kashmir. He discussed the atrocities committed against Kashmiri Pandits in the 1990s and also targeted the opposition parties. Home Minister Amit Shah even said in the House that if such an incident happens again in Kashmir, the government will stop it.

Difference between giving authority and giving authority respectfully

Union Home Minister Amit Shah said on Jammu and Kashmir Reservation (Amendment) Bill 2023 and Jammu and Kashmir Reorganization Bill 2023 that the bill I have brought here is related to providing justice and rights to those people against whom injustice was done, Those who were insulted and ignored. In any society, those who are deprived should be brought forward, this is the basic spirit of the Constitution of India. They have to be brought forward in such a way that their respect is not diminished. There is a lot of difference between giving authority and giving authority respectfully. Therefore, it is necessary to name it as Other Backward Class instead of weak and deprived class.

PoK is ours...it is all ours

Home Minister Amit Shah said in the Lok Sabha that PoK is ours and belongs to everyone. He also said that every oppressed Kashmiri will remember what PM Modi has done for them. He said that earlier there were 37 seats in Jammu, now there are 43. Earlier there were 46 seats in Kashmir, now there are 47 seats and 24 seats have been reserved in POK because POK is ours.

What is the provision in the bill?

The Jammu and Kashmir Reservation (Amendment) Bill, 2023 and the Jammu and Kashmir Reorganization Bill, 2023 have been introduced in Parliament. The first bill calls for reserving 3 seats in the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly for Kashmiri migrants and people displaced from PoK. The second bill talks about reservation for the deprived and OBC classes. Let us tell you that out of 3 seats, 1 seat will be reserved for a woman and one for a citizen displaced from POK.

PM Modi knows the pain of the poor

Amit Shah said that some people also tried to undermine this bill. Someone said that only the name is changing. I would like to tell all of them that if we have even a little bit of sympathy then we have to see that their respect is attached to the name. Only those people can see this who want to bring him forward considering him as their brother, they cannot understand this who use him as a vote bank for their political gains. He said that Narendra Modi is a leader who was born in a poor family and has become the Prime Minister of the country today. He knows the pain of the poor.
