Vande Metro Train: After the success of Vande Bharat Express, Indian Railways is now planning to introduce a new train 'Vande Metro' running between short distance cities. This train has been built keeping in mind Vande Bharat Express. The target of Vande Metro is to improve short distance travel for the common man. Let's know about the features and other things of Vande Metro-

Vande Metro was first announced by Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav in February 2023. According to the news published in Times of India (TOI), two prototypes of Vande Metro are being prepared at Rail Coach Factory Kapurthala and ICF Chennai. They are expected to be ready in a few months. After this, they will be tested on a large scale.

Both Vande Metro and Vande Bharat Express are run without engine. But let us tell you that Vande Metro is being built to replace the old EMU train. It is clear from this that these trains are being started with the aim of making short distance travel comfortable.

Vande Metro will achieve a speed of 130 km per hour. It will be much faster than the current EMU in terms of speed. Passengers will be able to enjoy a comfortable journey in the AC coach of Vande Metro. There will be completely sealed passenger gateways for easy movement between the coaches, which will also prevent dust from entering. All this will look similar to Vande Bharat Express.

Vande Metro will have light aluminum racks for keeping luggage. There will also be a Passenger Information System with LCD display. This will make it feel very comfortable on short distances. Vande Metro will have automatic doors for passengers to board and disembark.

The train will also have points for charging mobile phones. A safety feature called KAVACH has been provided in the train to avoid collision. Special lighting arrangements have been made inside the coach. Displays showing route information are also installed inside the coach.

Vande Metro will have modern design lightly cushioned seats. Lightweight cushion sheets have been used in making the coach. One coach has seating capacity for 100 passengers and 200 passengers can travel standing.

According to a TOI report, railway officials say that Vande Metro can run on routes like Agra-Mathura, Delhi-Rewari, Lucknow-Kanpur, Tirupati-Chennai and Bhubaneswar-Balasore. Depending on which routes it will be run on, Vande Metro train will have 12 or 16 coaches.
