Bollywood Actress: Bigg Boss, Salman Khan's popular reality show, has always been in the headlines. The show has often seen stars whose film career has come to a standstill. But this platform gave a new identity to many stars, be it new work opportunities or a chance to bring their personal life in front of the people. One such actress is Shamita Shetty, who is the sister of famous Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty and sister-in-law of a businessman. Shamita appeared in Bigg Boss OTT season 1, and before that she had also been a part of Bigg Boss TV. But this show had a profound impact on her life, especially on her mental health.

Shamita's journey in Bigg Boss OTT

Shamita Shetty participated in Bigg Boss OTT season 1, where she not only caught the attention of the audience but also admitted her romantic relationship with Rakesh Bapat during the show. This relationship remained in the news for some time even after the show, although the two later broke up. Shamita revealed in a recent interview that the stressful atmosphere of the Bigg Boss house took a toll on her mental health. She had to undergo professional therapy for almost a year after she came out of the show.

"When I came out of Bigg Boss, I needed therapy for a year. I couldn't understand what was going on around me or how to react in the right way," Shamita said. She further added that the blurred line between reality and fiction on the show affected her deeply. "My reality and imagination were mingling with each other, creating a lot of confusion in my mind."

Effect of the show on mental health

Recalling the daily fights inside the Bigg Boss house, Shamita revealed how even small things, like arguments over toothpaste, were mentally disturbing. "Imagine, waking up almost every morning and people yelling at each other for useless things like toothpaste. It's not a good environment. It disturbs you mentally," she said.

Shamita also spoke openly about her increasing anxiety. She said, "I was already suffering from anxiety, and the show aggravated it. After coming out, I became a little aggressive because I was constantly fighting." Shamita's words highlight the aspect of reality shows that is often hidden from the audience.
