Bihar / Gorakhpur to Siliguri in just 6 hours, the face of North Bihar will change with Greenfield Expressway

Bihar is going to get a new greenfield expressway by 2025 under the Bharatmala project. Survey work has started in North Bihar for 520 km long Greenfield Expressway from Gorakhpur to Siliguri. The distance between the two cities will be covered in just 6 hours. This expressway will pass through 8 districts of Bihar. It will pass through East Champaran, West Champaran, Sheohar, Sitamarhi, Madhubani, Supaul, Araria and Kishanganj. This will increase the pace of economic development in the state.

This greenfield expressway is being built parallel to NH 27 in Bihar, Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal. It will be easy for the people of Bihar and Nepal to travel from Northeast India to Delhi and Uttarakhand. This expressway to be built near the border of Nepal has great importance from a strategic point of view. This expressway will not pass through populated areas. Being a greenfield expressway, there will be trees and plants in and around it. That is, the drivers will see greenery on it.

Highest stretch of expressway in Bihar

The largest part of Greenfield Expressway is in Bihar. Its length in the state will be 416.2 km. While it is 84.4 km in UP and 18.97 km in West Bengal. It will have fewer entry points as compared to other roads. That is, once you climb the expressway, you will be able to get down again only after coming to a major city. This road will be straight as compared to other roads, there will be no more turns. It will help in promoting social and economic development in the districts through which it will pass in Bihar.

507 km of land will be acquired in Motihari

Survey work has started in East Champaran district for Gorakhpur Siliguri Expressway. This road will pass through eight blocks including district headquarter Motihari, survey work is going on in Harsiddhi. After this, the process of tender will start in December after preparing the DPR.
