Now, a web series on the life of gangster Vikas Dubey is being made by filmmaker Hansal Mehta.

While speaking to Mid-Day, Hansal Mehta, who has previously made films such as Shahid, Omerta, Aligarh, said, “It is an important story, which is a reflection of our times where politics, crime and lawmakers form a curious nexus. I see an edgy political thriller emerging from this [material].” As for the cast, he said that he has some thought on who he’d like to rope in, but he said, “let the writing happen first."

#Shahid. #Repost @_cinexp_ • • • • • • Shahid (2012) | Hansal Mehta The story of seeking justice. In a country of a billion, like India; judiciary comes across thousands of cases ranging through various numbers of issues; millions of people knocking the door of the Indian courts, tonnes of proceedings going on everyday yet the Indian Judicial system strives at best of it's capabilities to serve justice to the nation; but such a vast code of conduct too have some flaws, due to which sometimes even the innocents lands up getting trapped into the judicial flaws. . Shahid Aazmi, a survivor of the 93 Bombay riots & a former militant mends his way to become a criminal lawyer; defending the helpless accused's of the allegations of suspicious terrorist activities. . Hansal Mehta here, attempts to presents the ground reality of the Indian judicial proceedings by a story of a normal person whose life takes a drastic turn after being affected by the judicial flaws & some other series of events. Shahid here is not potraited as a role model or a torchman of the justice but only as a normal man with an unjust past who overcomes his misfortunes through lights of the education & just helping the Indian judicial serving justice, through only doing his share; helping the people going through the similar misfortunes what he gone through once. The ugly & unfair side of the legal system towards the end really hits you hard & is just heartbreaking making us all questioning that "Is that what really one have to pay the price for seeking the truth?" . Mehta doesn't complexs the narrative through any cinematic technicalities but just captured a life account of a man keeping it's true essence which seems very raw & aunthentic where Rao has literally given a life to his character earning him a National award. . "Waqt lagta hai par ho jata hai" P.S.- glimpses of 'Beparwah' in the story #shahid #rajkumarrao #prabhleensandhu #mohammedzeeshanayyub #hansalmehta #tigmanshudhulia #anuragkashyap
