Meanwhile, Bangladesh National Cricket Team won the toss and opted to field first against the Black Caps. However, Devon Conway and Will Young batted exceptionally well and added 138 runs together. After Young (52) and Conway (122) got out Henry Nicholls played amazing 75 runs knock and New Zealand posted 328 runs on the board in the first innings. From Bangladesh Mehidy Hasan Miraz and Shoriful Islam bagged 3-wicket hauls each.

Bangladesh meanwhile batted even better than the Black Caps in their first innings. Mahmudul Hasan Joy scored brilliant 78 runs, Najmul Hossain Shanto scored good 64 runs, skipper Mominul Haque played the knock of 88 runs and wicketkeeper-batsman Litton Das contributed 86 runs. Bangladesh were bowled out for 458 with Trent Boult picking a 4-wicket haul and Neil Wagner picking 3 wickets.

New Zealand in their second innings failed miserably and only Will Young and Ross Taylor played good knocks. Meanwhile, chasing the small target of 40 runs Bangladesh lost 2 wickets but eventually won the match.
