Mahmudul Hasan Joy scored brilliant 78 runs, Najmul Hossain Shanto scored good 64 runs, skipper Mominul Haque played the knock of 88 runs and wicketkeeper-batsman Litton Das contributed 86 runs. Bangladesh were bowled out for 458 with Trent Boult picking a 4-wicket haul and Neil Wagner picking 3 wickets.

New Zealand in their second innings failed miserably and only Will Young and Ross Taylor played good knocks. Bangladesh pacer Ebadot Hossain bagged 6 wickets and Taskin Ahmed got 3 and New Zealand were bundled out for just 169 runs. Meanwhile, chasing the small target of 40 runs Bangladesh lost 2 wickets but eventually won the match.
