Hyperloop: How nice it would be to reach Chandigarh from Delhi in just 1½ hours without using an airplane or be in Mumbai in just an hour. This is not a dream but can soon turn into a reality in India. While the country is waiting for the Mumbai Ahmedabad Bullet train, on the other hand, now many foreign companies are running 300 km in India. Preparations have been started to bring 'Hyperloop' running at a speed of more than per hour.

what is hyperloop

Hyperloop is a technology with the help of which people or goods can be moved safely and efficiently anywhere in the world with great speed. This train will run on a pod (track) equipped with magnetic technology. In hyperloop technology, transparent tubes are laid on top of the pillars (elevated). Inside it, a long single bogie floats in the air. There is no friction in it at all. Due to this, its speed ranges from 1100 to 1200 kmph. The cost of electricity is also very less in this. There is no pollution in it at all.

Why the discussion of hyperloop started

NITI Aayog member VK Saraswat said on Friday that some foreign companies are keen to bring 'hyperloop' technology for ultra-high-speed rail travel in India, though discussions in this regard are still at an early stage. Saraswat heads a committee set up to explore the technical and commercial feasibility of hyperloop technology. He said that the committee has prepared a preliminary report in this regard.

Foreign companies keen to come to India

Saraswat said that we have also held talks with some companies, which are foreign companies. They are already developing this (hyperloop) technology. Saraswat further added, “They have shown some interest in bringing this technology to India. The discussions are at a very preliminary stage.

Permission granted on Mumbai Pune route

This technology has been discussed by businessman Elon Musk. Several other companies around the world are working on this technology, including Virgin Hyperloop. The Maharashtra government has allowed the use of hyperloop technology for travel between Mumbai and Pune. Where it currently takes 3 to 4 hours to travel between Pune and Mumbai, after this the journey will be completed in 20 to 25 minutes.
