ICC Awards: India's star player Suryakumar Yadav, the number one batsman in ICC T20 rankings, has won another award on the strength of his performance. ICC has given T20 Cricketer of the Year award to Suryakumar Yadav. This is the second consecutive time that Suryakumar Yadav has received this award. The year 2023 was a great year for Suryakumar Yadav and he scored a lot of runs with his bat.

Suryakumar Yadav scored a lot of runs in T20 International in the year 2023 with an average of around 50 and strike rate of more than 150. Surya made his T20 International debut in the year 2021 by hitting a six against England. After this, Surya never looked back and continued scoring runs. A total of 4 more players were nominated by ICC for this award. It included Sikandar Raza of Zimbabwe, Alpesh Ramjani of Uganda and Mark Chapman of New Zealand, but leaving all of them behind, Suryakumar Yadav has won the ICC T20 Player of the Year award.

In the year 2023, Suryakumar Yadav scored 733 runs in 17 innings. During this period, his average was 48.86 and strike rate was 155.95. Surya had won this ICC award in the year 2022 also. ICC started giving this award from the year 2021. The first award was received by Mohammad Rizwan of Pakistan. After this, he has won this award from Suryakumar Yadav twice back to back.

Suryakumar Yadav captained Team India in T20

Suryakumar Yadav got a lot of chances in ODI last year too, but he could not score much runs in ODI, but no one could surpass him in T20. By defeating Pakistan's Mohammad Rizwan, he became the number one batsman in T20 ranking and after that he did not move from there. Even now his lead remains so much over the second batsman that there is no threat to his position at the moment.
