Odisha / If the dowry was not found, the mother-in-law drove the woman naked in the village

Bhubaneswar: In Odisha (Odisha), an incident which has embarrassed humanity has come to light, where the father-in-law, after not getting a dowry, naked a woman, roamed the entire village and beat him with sticks. The case is of Koruk village in Kendrapara district of Odisha. The entire incident was reportedly captured on camera and the video is going viral on social media.

A police officer said, 'The woman's uncle has lodged a complaint at the local police station, after which investigation has been initiated in the case. According to Inspector Kabuli Barik of Nikirai Police Station, some locals in Koruk village tried to intervene to save the woman, who was tortured after not getting a dowry.

Inspector Kabuli Barik said, 'The woman's statement has been recorded. His in-laws have fled the village and their search is on, for which a special police team has been formed. ' He said that those who made the video viral on social media are also being searched.
