A teenage girl was abducted, raped and then murdered in Hazaribagh district of Jharkhand. Police has arrested two accused in this case. A senior police officer gave this information on Saturday.
Two men from Matwari Bhuyan Toli in Hazaribagh allegedly abducted a teenager, raped her and then killed her. The incident took place on Friday and both the accused, aged 20 and 22, were arrested after the girl's body was found near a pond in Pakhi on Saturday morning, police said.
Two lawyers of Hazaribagh court saw the dead body and raised an alarm and informed the police. District Superintendent of Police Manoj Ratan Chauthie said that both the accused were arrested on the basis of a complaint lodged with the police by the victim's family. He said that the accused kidnapped the girl, who worked as a domestic help, when she was returning home from work.
However, the girl's parents did not inform the police about her abduction till her body was found. Both the accused, residents of the girl's area, were arrested on the basis of an FIR lodged by the victim's father. The victim's father claimed that both the accused knew his daughter very well and the girl was in a relationship with one of them. Both were arrested after the victim's family lodged a complaint against them.
The accused have confessed that after raping the girl, they killed her with a sharp weapon. The superintendent of police said that the two also admitted that they had dumped the girl's body in the pond on Friday to hide the evidence and fled. The police produced both the accused in the court of Chief Judicial Magistrate, Hazaribagh. from where he was sent to jail.
