Constant contact is also being maintained with Qatari authorities. Eight employees of Qatar's Al-Dahra Company were sentenced to death on October 26, the charges against them were not made clear. However, it was verbally said that these former Navy personnel would be charged with espionage. After the sentencing, the Government of India also issued a statement saying that it will consider all options in this matter. Now India has started efforts on this.

Legal team is considering all options

In a conversation on Thursday, Indian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Arindam Bagchi said that- 'There is a court of first instance, the decision given by the Qatar court is very confidential. That is why it has been shared only with the legal team. He told that the legal team is considering all the options, an appeal has also been filed on our behalf, apart from this, the Indian External Affairs Ministry is constantly in touch with the Qatari authorities in this matter.

India got consular access

According to Foreign Ministry spokesperson Arindam Bagchi, the agency has got consular access on November 7, according to the Foreign Ministry, they are in contact with all the former naval personnel and their families, according to Bagchi, consular assistants have been made available to these families, the matter It is very sensitive, we are keeping a close eye on it. He told that a few days ago the Foreign Minister had also met the families of all these 8 people.

8 former naval personnel have been arrested in Qatar, these include Commander Purnendu Tiwari, Commander Sugunakar, Pakala, Commander Amit Nagpal, Commander Sanjeev Gupta and Sailor Rage, Captain Saurabh Vashishtha, Captain Virendra Kumar Verma, Captain Navtej Singh Gill. All of them have been accused of espionage. He was in jail for the last one year. All these people were working in Al Dahra Consultancy Company of Qatar.
