A 28-year-old Indian-origin youth has been sentenced to 10 months in prison in the US. This former Amazon employee was found guilty of fraud and bribery, after which the court sentenced him. It has been told that Rohit Kadimishetty, a resident of California Northridge, had confessed to the allegations against him in September 2021 itself. After this his case reached the court and now the judges have punished him.

In which case was found guilty?

According to the US Department of Justice, Rohit was found to be involved in an international bribery conspiracy. Under this, he and his five accomplices used to steal secret information from Amazon through infiltration and also tampered with the 'Marketplace' platform of the e-commerce company through the information. The Amazon Marketplace platform is primarily a part of Amazon itself and through this Amazon provides the facility to third party sellers to sell new and used products at a fixed price. Amazon offers are also applicable in this.

The judge said - it is like organized crime

Lawyer Nick Brown said that Rohit Kadimishetty has been sentenced to 10 months in prison. Apart from this, a fine of 50 thousand dollars (about 38 lakh rupees) has also been imposed on him. According to a statement issued by the Ministry of Justice, after leaving Amazon, Rohit stole secret information by bribing some people of the company and ran the Amazon Marketplace on his own.

During the sentencing of Rohit, US District Court Judge Richard Jones said, "You did not have a license to take any information from Amazon and you were involved in an illegal activity. This can be called modern day organized crime."
