Big news is coming on the 15th season of the Indian Premier League (IPL 15). The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has decided that the tournament will be organized in India and its matches will be played in Mumbai only. However, once again the audience will have to watch the match sitting at home. News agency ANI has quoted BCCI sources as saying that the board is committed to organize this season in India. On Saturday 22 January, there was a meeting between the board and all the franchise owners, in which the board told about its choice. However, if the situation worsens, then the United Arab Emirates and South Africa are also being kept as options.

News agency ANI reports that the tournament matches will be held at three stadiums in Mumbai - Wankhede, DY Patil (Navi Mumbai) and Brabourne Stadium (CCI). Along with this, board sources have told that if needed, some matches can also be organized in Pune. Last year, the BCCI organized the IPL in India itself. But then due to the second wave of corona infection, cases started coming in the bio-bubble and it had to be stopped only after 29 matches. Then in September-October it was completed in UAE.

Will it start a week ago?

At the same time, a change has also been proposed in the start date of the tournament. According to the report of Cricbuzz, the board has informed all the franchise owners that it is considering starting the tournament from March 27. Earlier, there was a plan to start the 15th season from April 2. In such a situation, it is expected to end in the first week of May. However, the final decision on all these issues will be taken in the board meeting to be held on February 20.

No change in auction date

There will be no change in the date of the big auction. According to the report, the board has told the franchise owners that the mega auction will be held on February 12 and 13 only and as usual this time also the players will be bidding in Bengaluru itself. This time 1214 players have registered themselves for the auction in the league, in which 896 are Indian and 318 foreign players.
