Iran-Israel Conflict: A major diplomatic success has emerged amid rising tensions in the Middle East. US President Donald Trump has implemented a ceasefire between Iran and Israel on the recommendation of Qatar. This disclosure has been made by the American magazine Newsweek quoting diplomatic sources. The report said that as soon as Iran fired six missiles at the US airbase in Doha, the capital of Qatar, the Emir and Prime Minister of Qatar immediately sought US intervention.

Qatar's diplomatic intervention

According to the Newsweek report, the rulers of Qatar immediately contacted US President Donald Trump and Vice President JD Vance. Understanding the seriousness of the situation, Trump discussed with his Mideast special envoy Witkoff. Witkoff immediately contacted Iran's Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi.

Agreement reached with conditions

Another report by Axios states that as soon as he came in contact with Witkoff, the Iranian Foreign Minister made it clear that Iran would retreat only when Israel stopped its military operation. Araghchi said that Israel had started the conflict, so now it will have to take the first step. Witkoff assured that Israel would not attack for the next 24 hours. After this, Iran agreed conditionally and the way for ceasefire was cleared.

Active role of Qatar's Emir

During the entire incident, Qatar's Emir and Prime Minister were in constant touch with the American leadership. Before the announcement of ceasefire, both the leaders not only shared the seriousness of the situation, but also played an active role in the process of solution. Qatar feared that it could again become the next target of the attack.

America's strategy and Iran's response

An important issue behind this conflict has been Iran's uranium enrichment program. The strategy of America and Israel was focused on this. In the American attack, three nuclear sites of Iran were targeted, about which America claimed that there was storage of uranium. However, Iran rejected these claims and said that enriched uranium was not present at these sites.

According to a report in the British newspaper 'The Telegraph', Iran had secretly transferred about 400 kg of uranium elsewhere before the attack. Neither the US nor Israel was aware of this move.

What next?

Israel believes that now Iran will not be in a position to prepare nuclear weapons at least for the next one or two years. But how stable the situation will remain depends on what strategy Iran adopts next. While on the one hand the US and Israel are assuming that they have stopped Iran's program, information about Iran's internal steps is currently limited.
