Benjamin Netanyahu: Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu made a sensational claim on Sunday that Iran's Islamic regime had tried to assassinate former US President Donald Trump, considering him a threat to the nuclear program. He also said that Iran wanted to target not only Trump but also him.

Netanyahu's claim: Trump is Iran's enemy number one

In an interview to Fox News, Netanyahu said, "Donald Trump is Iran's enemy number one. He never bowed down to pressure nor did he adopt a weak attitude towards the nuclear deal. Iran felt that Trump was the biggest threat to its nuclear program, so they tried to eliminate him."

Iran is close to a nuclear bomb

The Israeli PM also claimed that intelligence agencies have given clear indications that Iran is now in the final stages of making nuclear weapons. According to him, "Iran was preparing to conduct a nuclear test within a month and would have fully functional nuclear weapons within a year."

Conspiracy to kill Trump through Hezbollah and Hamas

Netanyahu pointed to Iran-backed terrorist organizations Hezbollah and Hamas and said that two attempts were made to kill Trump through them. He said, "Those who raise slogans of 'Down with America', who have killed American soldiers in Beirut, who work against American interests in Iraq and Afghanistan, were after Trump."

Cities of the world are in danger

Netanyahu expressed his concern and said that if Iran gets nuclear weapons, not only Israel but the whole world will be in danger. He said, "Do you want nuclear bombs in the hands of such fanatics? Do you want those bombs to fall on your cities?"

'Junior partner' with Trump

While speaking, Netanyahu called himself Trump's 'junior partner' and said that both of them together had tried to push Iran back. He said that his and Trump's objective was not just to protect Israel or America but to protect the entire world from the Iranian nuclear threat.
