GT vs CSK: Chennai Super Kings has won the IPL 2023 title. Super Kings defeated Gujarat Titans by 5 wickets in a thrilling final played at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. CSK needed 10 runs off the last two balls. Ravindra Jadeja hit a six on the fifth ball and a four on the last ball to make CSK the IPL champion for the fifth time. With this, captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni equaled Rohit in terms of winning the most IPL titles.

Rohit has made Mumbai the winner five times under his captaincy. Now Dhoni has also made Chennai the champion five times. Chennai had earlier won the title in 2010, 2011, 2018 and 2021.

171 runs scored in 15 overs

Batting first after losing the toss, Gujarat scored 214 runs for 4 wickets in 20 overs. Sai Sudarshan scored 96 and Wriddhiman Saha scored 54 runs. It started raining in the second innings. Chennai got the target of 171 runs in 15 overs. The team achieved the target by losing 5 wickets.

Noor Ahmed took 2 wickets

CSK bowlers yearning for wicket

Fifty of Saha with Sudarshan

Wriddhiman Saha of Gujarat made Fifty in 36 balls. He started hitting big shots in the powerplay overs itself. He first shared a 67-run partnership with Gill, then also shared a 64-run partnership with Sai Sudarshan. He became the victim of Deepak Chahar after scoring 54 runs in 39 balls.

Sudarshan missed the century

Sai Sudarshan, who came out to bat at number-3 after Shubman Gill, made a steady start. Then after the 12th over, the spinners started hitting big shots. He completed his fifty in 33 balls. He got out in the 20th over after scoring 96 runs.

Dhoni playing 250th match

This is Dhoni's 250th match in IPL, he became the first player to do so. After him Rohit Sharma has played 243 and Dinesh Karthik has played 242 matches.
