Bollywood: As the Hindi film industry celebrates the opening of cinema halls in Maharashtra after months on Friday, OTT will see filmmakers Karan Johar and Sunny Leone presenting a comedy show that will reportedly be adult-only. Prime Video's stand-up comedy show last year was very popular for featuring celebrities from different walks of life as stand-up comedians. Now its second season is going to start and among the five Indian celebrities who have been selected for this, the name of Karan Johar and Sunny Leone is at the top.

Shashi Tharoor was last seen as a stand-up comedian in Amazon's original series 'One Mic Stand'. Apart from them, famous YouTuber Bhuvan Bam, music composer Vishal Dadlani and actresses like Taapsee Pannu and Richa Chadha were also seen doing stand-up comedy in this series. Zakir Khan was the first of the famous people who were included in the series as a coach to give these famous personalities the knowledge of comedy, besides Kunal Kamra, Angad Ranayal, Rohan Joshi and Ashish in this first season of the series. Shakya was also seen giving knowledge of comedy as a coach. Sapan Verma was the host of the show.

Name of five Indians selected

Sapan Verma is also going to host the second season of the series 'One Mic Stand'. This time around, filmmaker Karan Johar, playgirl Sunny Leone, rapper Raftaar, journalist Faye D'Souza and writer Chetan Bhagat are among the stand-up comedians. These celebrities participating in the show are mentored by Sumukhi Suresh, Samay Raina, Neeti Palta, Atul Khatri and Abish Mathew. Commenting on this, Aparna Purohit, Head of India Originals, Amazon Prime Video, said, “At Prime Video India, it has always been our endeavor to discover new stories that can connect with a wide base of audiences. This discovery inspired us to develop 'One Mic Stand'. This crude yet catchy format has garnered the interest of the audience and helped in expanding the consciousness of comedy in the country. Now we are very excited to present its second season. The show brings together celebs from different walks of life who are attempting stand-up comedy for the first time in their lives.

The show is a hit abroad
