This penalty has been imposed on Morgan for the first time due to his team not bowling in the stipulated time. If he makes this mistake for the second time this season, he will be fined 24 lakhs. Apart from this, the players of his team will be fined 25 per cent of the match fees, which will be less than 6 lakhs.

In the match played in Mumbai on Wednesday, Kolkata captain Eoin Morgan won the toss and decided to do the Gedambaji first. Chennai scored 220 for 3 wickets thanks to opener Faf du Plessis's not out 95 runs. Kolkata had fallen 5 wickets for 31 runs at a time, chasing a target of 221 runs. After that Russell and Cummins played stormy innings before but they could not win the team. Russell scored 54 runs and Cummins scored 66 runs.
