RCB vs KKR: Kolkata Knight Riders have won their third win in the Indian Premier League-16. The team defeated Royal Challengers Bangalore by 21 runs at their home ground. Batting first after losing the toss, KKR scored 200 runs for 5 wickets in 20 overs at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium. In reply, the Bangalore batsmen could only manage 179 runs for 8 wickets in 20 overs.

Chasing the target of 201 runs, RCB got off to a brisk start by Virat Kohli and Faf du Plessis. Both scored 33 runs in 14 balls. Du Plessis was caught out by Suyash Sharma. Virat Kohli handled the innings, but at the other end, Shahbaz Ahmed was dismissed for 2 and Glenn Maxwell for 5 runs. Although the team scored 58 runs for 3 wickets.

Roy's Fifty, Kolkata scored 200 runs

Jason Roy scored 56 off 29 balls, Captain Nitish Rana scored 48 off 21 balls, Venkatesh Iyer 31 off 26 balls and Narayan Jagadishan scored 27 off 29 balls. In the slog over, Rinku Singh scored 18 runs in 10 balls and David VJ scored 12 runs in 3 balls.

80 run partnership in Nitish-Iyer

Vijay Kumar Vaishakh pushed Kolkata to the backfoot by taking 2 wickets, but from here captain Nitish Rana and Venkatesh Iyer partnered to take the team past 150. Both shared an 80-run partnership off 44 balls. This partnership broke when Rana got out after scoring 48 runs in 21 balls.

83-run partnership between Jagdishan-Roy

The openers shared a half-century partnership for Kolkata. The pair of Narayan Jagadishan and Jason Roy added 83 runs off 56 balls. This partnership was broken by Vijaykumar Vaishak by dismissing Jagdishan.

KKR's fast start in Powerplay

Electing to bat first after losing the toss, Jason Roy got off to a brisk start for Kolkata Knight Riders. Narayan Jagdishan also supported him very well. Both did not lose any wicket in the powerplay and took the team's score to 66 runs.
