Patna: The lockdown issued in view of Corona in Bihar has been extended for a week. Now the lockdown will continue till 1 June in Bihar. State Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has given this information on Twitter.

Nitish Kumar tweeted and wrote, "The lockdown was imposed for three weeks from May 5, 2021 in view of the corona infection." The situation was reviewed again today with the associate ministers and officials. The lockdown has had a good effect and corona infections appear to be declining. Therefore, it has been decided to continue the lockdown in Bihar for a week beyond May 25, that is, till June 1, 2021.

107 more dead including SDM

In Corona virus infection in Bihar, 107 people have died in the last 24 hours including Sanjay Kumar Singh, Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) of Nalanda District Headquarters, Biharsharif, while 4002 new cases of infection have been reported. According to the Bulletin released by the Health Department on Sunday, a total of 4549 people have died due to the infection so far while 6,76,045 people have been confirmed infected.

According to information received from Patna AIIMS, Sanjay Kumar Singh (52), SDM of Bihar Sharif, infected with corona virus, died at around 1.45 pm on Sunday. Since the onset of the Corona epidemic last year, the number of people infected in Bihar has reached 6,89,576, of which 6,44,335 patients have been cured. There are currently 40,691 patients undergoing treatment in the state and the recovery rate is 93.44 per cent. In Bihar, 1,24,175 people were vaccinated on Kovid-19 on Sunday.

Black fungus epidemic declared in Bihar

Before that, the Bihar government has declared black fungus as an epidemic. Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar said that the new disease black fungus has been declared an epidemic by the state government. He said that black fungus medicines have been made available in several government and private hospitals along with Indira Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences (IGIMS) and AIIMS, Patna.
