Rahul Gandhi News: Congress MP and Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday launched a scathing attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi. In the context of PM Modi's reply speech to the President's address, Rahul Gandhi expressed his reaction on the social media platform X. He demanded the Prime Minister to accept the failure of the 'Make in India' initiative.

Make in India: A failed initiative?

Rahul Gandhi claimed on the basis of data that the share of the manufacturing sector in GDP was 15.3% in 2014, which has now come down to 12.6%. This figure is the lowest in the last 60 years. He said that the basic concept of 'Make in India' was good, but the government has failed to implement it.

Rahul Gandhi stressed the dire need for employment for Indian youth and said that whether UPA or NDA, no government has been able to properly address this national challenge.

Need for revival of manufacturing sector

Rahul Gandhi stressed the need for a comprehensive approach to improve India's manufacturing sector. He said that there should be a clear vision to make the production system modern and competitive.

He particularly pointed out the need to focus on emerging technologies such as electric motors, batteries, optics and artificial intelligence. He believes that this is the only way to revive the Indian manufacturing sector and develop state-of-the-art production capacity, which can create more jobs in the country.

India 10 years behind China?

Expressing concern, Rahul Gandhi said that China is 10 years ahead of India and has made its industrial system very strong. This is why China has got a competitive edge globally.

He said that the only way to challenge China is to build a solid and strong production system in India. For this, India needs to adopt a long-term strategy and vision.

Prime Minister Modi's counterattack

It is worth noting that Prime Minister Narendra Modi, while responding to the debate on the President's address on Tuesday, reiterated his government's claims about the Indian economy and development in the country. He also made sharp attacks on Congress and defended the success of his policies.

This statement of Rahul Gandhi has heated up the political atmosphere. Now it will be interesting to see how the government responds to this criticism and what steps it takes to improve the status of 'Make in India'.
