GUJARAT / Massive explosion in Bharuch's chemical factory, six workers killed, Dahej plant explodes in the early hours

Six workers were killed in a powerful explosion at a chemical factory in Gujarat's Bharuch district in the early hours of Monday. This factory is located in Dahej Industrial Area. It is 235 kms away from Ahmedabad.

Bharuch Superintendent of Police Leena Patil said the six workers killed were working near a reactor. There was a sudden explosion in the solvent plant at around 3 am. The plant caught fire after the blast. The fire brigade team that reached the spot immediately brought the fire under control. After this the dead bodies were sent to the hospital for postmortem. No one is reported to be injured in the accident.
