Asia Cup Trophy / Mohsin Naqvi is ready to give the Asia Cup trophy to Team India on this condition, a big revelation in the report

India defeated Pakistan in the final of the Asia Cup 2025 to win the title, but the trophy controversy shocked everyone. PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi left with the trophy and medals. The BCCI called it against the spirit of the game and announced it would take the matter to the ICC. The ACC will meet today.

Asia Cup Trophy: India defeated Pakistan in the final of the Asia Cup 2025 to win the title. In this thrilling match played at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium, the Indian team once again proved its dominance with a brilliant performance. However, after the victory, a strange scene unfolded on the field, causing a stir in the cricket world. Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi took the winning trophy and medals with him, forcing the Indian team to return home without the trophy.

The Trophy Controversy Begins

After winning the final, the Indian team made it clear that they would not accept the trophy and medals from Mohsin Naqvi. Given the tense political relations between India and Pakistan, the Indian players took this firm stance. Naqvi waited on the stage for a long time, but none of the Indian team players went to receive the medals. Naqvi then decided to take the trophy and medals with him and leave the stadium. Two days have passed, but the trophy and medals have not reached the Indian team, making the matter even more serious.

Mohsin Naqvi's Condition

According to a Cricbuzz report, Mohsin Naqvi has placed a significant condition before the organizers. He stated that the trophy and medals will only be returned if a formal ceremony is held in which he can personally hand them over to the Indian players. Given the current political tension between India and Pakistan, such a ceremony is unlikely. This condition makes it clear that Naqvi deliberately took the trophy and medals with him, which is being considered against the spirit of sportsmanship in the cricket world.

BCCI's Strong Stance

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) Secretary Debjit Saikia has expressed strong displeasure over the entire matter. He said,

"We decided not to accept the trophy from the ACC Chairman because he is one of the prominent leaders of Pakistan. This does not mean that he will take the trophy and medals with him. This is extremely unfortunate and against the spirit of sportsmanship."

Saikia further stated that the BCCI will raise the matter with the International Cricket Council (ICC). India will lodge a strong protest against this action at the ICC conference to be held in Dubai in November 2025. Saikia expressed hope that the trophy and medals will be returned to India soon.

ACC Emergency Meeting

Meanwhile, the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) has called an emergency meeting to resolve the dispute. According to India TV journalist Vijay Laxmi, the meeting will be held today, September 30, 2025, at 4 pm (Indian time), with the trophy dispute being the main topic of discussion. However, it is unclear whether PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi will attend the meeting. According to sources, the trophy is currently in the same hotel where Naqvi is staying. The ACC has asked him to deliver the trophy to the ACC office in Dubai's Sports City, from where it will be shipped to India.

The issue will be raised at the ICC Annual General Meeting.

The BCCI has decided to raise this matter at the ICC Annual General Meeting (AGM) scheduled for November 24, 2025. The Board of Control for Cricket in India considers this incident to be against the dignity and traditions of the game and is preparing to strongly raise this issue with the ICC. Cricket fans and experts believe that this controversy could not only impact India-Pakistan cricket relations but also damage the image of a prestigious tournament like the Asia Cup.
