IPL 2022 / MS Dhoni hits 1st fifty of IPL 2022 but smash after 3 years of gap

MS Dhoni, the former captain of Chennai Super Kings i.e. CSK, played a strong innings against Kolkata Knight Riders in the first match of the Indian Premier League i.e. IPL 2022. MS Dhoni scored a half-century against KKR in difficult conditions. With this, he became the first player to score fifty in IPL 2022.

Wicket-keeper batsman MS Dhoni, who recently handed over the captaincy of Chennai Super Kings to Ravindra Jadeja, came out to bat at number seven against KKR. At that time the score of Chennai's team was 5 wickets for 61 runs. At that time the captain was Ravindra Jadeja at the crease and Dhoni along with his captain took the innings forward. Even both the batsmen kept their wickets till the last ball. Although, both the players did not bat any storm, but still showed their hands in the end.

Jadeja and Dhoni added 70 runs in 9.1 overs. MS Dhoni managed to score 50 runs in 38 balls with the help of 7 fours and 1 six and a strikerate of 131.58. He scored 2 runs in the first 10 balls. In such a situation, he scored 48 runs in the last 28 balls. Apart from this, this is his first half-century after a gap of three years. Earlier, MS Dhoni had scored 84 runs in 48 balls against RCB in Bengaluru on 21 April 2019. He was unbeaten in this match.
