Chhagan Bhujbal on Saraswati: NCP leader Chhagan Bhujbal has given a controversial statement. Bhujbal said why Maa Saraswati is being worshiped in schools. He said that Maa Saraswati taught only 3 percent of the people. Ambedkar and Phule's picture should be installed in schools. Bhujbal raised the question that why worship Maa Saraswati and Sharda Maa in the school. Political arrows can go on this statement of Bhujbal. Actually Chhagan Bhujbal had reached a program organized at Yashwantrao Chavan Center on Monday. There he said that pictures of Mother Saraswati and Sharda Mata are installed in schools, which we have never seen nor taught anything. Even if it is taught, then only 3 percent of the people.

Bhujbal further said, 'Photos of Savitribai Phule, Mahatma Jyotiba Phule, Bhimrao Ambedkar, Chhatrapati Shahu Maharaj and Karmaveer Bhaurao Patil should be put up in schools because we have got education and rights because of these personalities. Therefore worship them, they are your gods. Their thoughts should be worshipped, the rest will be seen later.

BJP attacked

BJP has launched a scathing attack on this statement of Chhagan Bhujbal. BJP MLA Ram Kadam said, "Now Bhujbal has talked about removing the pictures of deities in schools. Going ahead, he can say what is the need of temples. Kadam said that he has insulted the deities of Bhujbal. So he should apologize for this. The BJP leader said that when the election time comes, these same leaders pretend to bow their heads in the temples of Hindu gods and goddesses and are now saying that what is the need of pictures of gods and goddesses, they should be removed. Kadam said that we have respect for all the great men but cannot insult the deities like this.
