India-Pakistan War / No ammunition, no courage... PAK will not be able to survive the war for more than 4 days

Pakistan's war preparations are in serious trouble. Its artillery ammunition has almost been depleted due to the recent arms exports. There is only enough resources left to fight a four-day war. Financial constraints and lack of weapons have turned the Pak army into a mere showpiece.

India-Pakistan War: Serious questions have been raised on Pakistan's military preparedness. According to the latest revelations by security agencies, Pakistan has only four days of artillery ammunition left in the event of a high-intensity war. This disclosure has come at a time when Pakistan has recently exported weapons on a large scale to Ukraine and Israel. Due to this, the defense reserves within the country are almost empty, which has had a major impact on its war policy and strategic balance.

There are weapons, but no ammunition

The main responsibility of the Pakistani army is on the M109 howitzer, BM-21 multiple rocket launcher and SH-15 mounted gun system. But there is not enough ammunition left for these modern weapons. According to security sources, not even a single shell is left for new cannon systems like SH-15. This has led to the situation that these weapons have become mere showpieces - dangerous to look at, but almost zero in practical use.

Exports outweigh domestic needs

Pakistan Ordnance Factories (POF) are so busy meeting international demand that they are unable to meet domestic needs. During the Ukraine war, Pakistan exported 42,000 BM-21 rockets, 60,000 howitzer shells and 130,000 other rockets. This may have earned the country $364 million, but the army's ammunition stock was reduced to almost nothing.

This strategy of financial gain did earn Pakistan some dollars, but national security had to pay the price for it. The army's combat capability has been severely hurt, and Pakistan's strategic position has weakened.

Practices stopped, petrol-ration cut

The country's economic situation is already serious - IMF conditions, foreign debt burden and dwindling currency reserves. Amidst all this, the army has also had to cut its resources. There is no petrol to run the tanks, so war exercises have also been stopped. Even rations have had to be cut. This situation is detrimental to both Pakistan's military self-reliance and morale.

The Special Corps Commanders Conference held on 2 May 2025 also acknowledged that the situation is serious. Former Pakistan Army Chief General Bajwa has also said earlier that Pakistan will not be able to survive a long war with a country like India.

India is ready, Pakistan is helpless

While India has increased its defense imports by more than 60% in the last decade, Pakistan has neither the resources nor the time. Pakistan's policy at the moment seems like "sell now, think later" - in which long-term security is being ignored to earn immediate dollars.

Four days of ammunition and broken strategy

In today's global geopolitics, when every country is engaged in strengthening its military capability, Pakistan's situation is worrying. Not only has its war policy weakened, but its strategic credibility has also come under suspicion. When it comes to war, one needs not just weapons but also ammunition, fuel and strategy – and at the moment Pakistan seems to be lagging behind on all these fronts.
