Washington: The United States has called a United Nations meeting to discuss North Korea's provocative speeches. The US is heading the Security Council in December. In such a situation, the Trump administration has to decide to discuss important issues this month. A day earlier, North Korea made fun of Trump, calling him an idiot and boastful old man. State news agency KCNA said that the US should make any proposal for relaxation of sanctions to North Korea by 31 December, otherwise there will be no further talks on the nuclear deal.

Why a sudden meeting to discuss North Korea?

North Korea had previously sought a waiver of sanctions imposed on it to sign the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty with the US. Trump announced last year that North Korea's economic sanctions would be relaxed by the end of 2019. US President Donald Trump and North Korean dictator Kim Jong-un have met several times about this. However, North Korea has not yet received any waiver.

North Korea has expressed its displeasure over this. His Foreign Minister Kim Song recently said that we do not need long talks with the US and now the chance of agreement is over. The Kim regime has warned the US to introduce a new waiver by the end of the year, so that further negotiations on the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty can take place.

What is America's reasoning behind not giving exemption?

The US has announced a meeting at the United Nations this week to discuss North Korea. It will assess the human rights situation of North Korea. It is being told that the meeting will discuss North Korea's recent missile launches and inflammatory speeches.

North America will not kneel under pressure: North Korea

North Korea has once again targeted US President Donald Trump, calling it an 'ageless and flattering choice'. Senior officer Kim Young Chol said in a statement that his country would not succumb to US pressure because it would have nothing to lose. He accused the Trump administration of trying to get more time ahead of the year-long deadline set by Kim Jong Un to save the nuclear talks.
