Gandhinagar. Prime Minister Narendra Modi described cooperative as a great medium for self-reliance of villages and said that in this lies the energy of self-reliant India. He further said, “It is very important for the villages to be self-reliant to build a self-reliant India, so according to the path shown by Pujya Bapu and Sardar Patel, today we are moving towards an ideal cooperative village.” He was speaking at the 'Sahakar Se Samridhi' program organized here on Saturday.

Prior to his address, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Nano Urea (Liquid) Plant manufactured at IFFCO, Kalol at the 'Sahakar Se Samridhi' program in Gandhinagar. PM Modi said, "Today I feel special pleasure while inaugurating the country's first Nano Urea Liquid Plant for self-reliant agriculture. Now the power of a sack of urea is contained in a bottle. About half a liter bottle of nano urea, one sack of the farmer will meet the requirement of urea.”


'Cooperation is a great model of self-reliance'

PM Modi said, 'Self-reliance is the solution to many of India's difficulties. A great model of self-reliance is co-operation. We have experienced this with great success in Gujarat and all of you friends are the fighters of this success. The example of cooperative model of dairy sector is before us. Today India is the world's largest milk producer, with Gujarat having a major share. The dairy sector has also been growing rapidly over the years and is also contributing more to the rural economy.

'Government gives freedom to the cooperative sector to flourish'

He said, 'The wide spread of milk-based industries in Gujarat happened because the restrictions from the government were minimal in this. The government tries to survive as much as possible and allows the co-operative sector the freedom to flourish. Here the government plays the role of only a facilitator, the rest of the work is done either by cooperatives like you, farmers.


'Trust is the greatest strength of a cooperative'

Addressing the program, PM Modi said, 'We are continuously moving forward to connect the spirit of co-operation with the spirit of the elixir of independence. With this objective, a separate ministry for cooperatives was formed at the Centre. The effort is to encourage cooperative based economic model in the country. The biggest strength of a co-operative is trust, cooperation, the ability to increase the capacity of the organization with the help of everyone. This is the guarantee of India's success in the nectar of independence.
