Panaji: BJP National President JP Nadda on Sunday slammed Congress-led opposition for creating a fuss over Pegasus Spyware media project which alleged that over 40 Indian journalists were possible candidates for surveillance using Israel-made spyware 'Pegasus'.

While addressing a press conference before culminating his two-day visit to Goa, JP Nadda said, "As far as the snoopgate is concerned, it is baseless and issueless. The Opposition led by Congress has got no issue which is related to people. That is why they raise such issue."

Further is his address, BJP national president praised Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant for "all-round development" and hinted to go ahead with him as CM face for the upcoming assembly elections. Nadda said that in BJP, Parliamentary Board makes the official declaration but there is no need to think about any other name

"According to the NITI Aayog report, Goa is at number one in terms of increase in per capita income. Goa is at number three in the Human Index. Goa also rose from seventh to fourth place in economic activity, which is a clear sign of development under Pramod Sawant's rule," JP Nadda added.

Speaking over the BJP structure in the state in regards with assembly polls, BJP leader said structurally, it has become a force that is difficult to defeat. "In the last four and a half years, Goa BJP has made a big leap from 2017 to 2021 when it comes to performance. Our MLAs are optimistic and full of confidence.  A huge number of leaders have joined BJP from Congress. I held detailed discussions with them. They've praised BJP's working that makes me more optimistic."

JP Nadda is on a two-day visit to poll-bound Goa. During his visit, he held a series of meetings with state ministers, party MLAs and other core committee members in regards with preparations for Goa Assembly elections which are scheduled early next year.
