After the victory in the assembly elections, BJP leader and former Chief Minister Pramod Sawant will again occupy the CM's chair. He will take oath as the chief minister on Monday. Apart from Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh and other senior BJP leaders will also be present in this swearing-in ceremony to be held at Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Stadium at 11 am.

In the recently held 40-member assembly elections, the BJP under the leadership of three-time MLA Pramod Sawant came back to power by winning 20 seats here. It is believed that more than 10 thousand people are likely to attend the swearing-in ceremony. This will be the second time that the Chief Minister of Goa will take oath outside the Raj Bhavan complex. In 2012, Manohar Parrikar was sworn in as Chief Minister at the Campal Ground in Panaji, when the BJP emerged as the single largest party in the House.

Governor PS Sreedharan Pillai has called a two-day session of the new assembly on March 29. Sawant will seek the trust vote during this session. Simultaneously, the election of the new Speaker of the Legislative Assembly will also take place.

11 ministers can take oath

So far it has not been disclosed by the BJP that how many cabinet ministers will take oath in the swearing-in ceremony. Sawant has also kept silent on this. However, according to sources, there may be 11 more ministers in the Goa cabinet.

Took stock of security preparedness

He said that the Prime Minister, Home Minister, at least 15 Chief Ministers and other dignitaries are coming, at least 2000 people are engaged here to ensure that there is no lapse in their security. Drones are also being used. 700 traffic police personnel have been deployed.
