New Delhi : Shiv Sena MP Priyanka Chaturvedi has come out in support of Union Minister Smriti Irani's daughter, who has been accused of running the bar illegally. While the Congress is attacking the BJP over Joish Irani's case, the Shiv Sena MP said the 18-year-old should not be made a villain.

Without naming Smriti Irani's daughter Priyanka Chaturvedi tweeted, "18 year olds will have no idea what the process is to get a license to run a restaurant in India. Keeping politics aside, I am a mother of a 19 year old. I'm talking like."

On Priyanka Chaturvedi's tweet, a social media user questioned her. She asked if she would have said the same thing even if the allegation had been leveled against an ordinary citizen. To this Priyanka said, "My brother did not come from any kind of privileged background. At the age of 18, he also had the same dream. He suffered massive losses while trying to make his dream come true in Mumbai. Also, She also had mental health issues. So yes, I know what I'm worried about."

Congress targets Smriti Irani over bar in Goa

The Congress on Saturday accused Smriti's daughter of running an illegal bar and said Prime Minister Narendra Modi should sack Irani from his cabinet. Smriti Irani termed this allegation of Congress as malicious. He claimed that his daughter has been targeted because of her vocal stand on the Rs 5,000 crore loot of Sonia and Rahul Gandhi in the National Herald case.
