PBKS vs RCB / Punjab out of IPL playoff race, RCB lost the match by 60 runs, Kohli-Siraj shined

PBKS vs RCB: Punjab Kings were eliminated from the playoff race in the Indian Premier League (IPL 2024) on Thursday. The team was defeated by Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) by 60 runs at their home ground Dharamsala. With this win, Bengaluru kept alive its hopes of qualifying for the playoffs.

Punjab won the toss and chose to bowl at the HPCA Stadium. RCB scored 241 runs at the loss of 7 wickets in 20 overs. Virat Kohli scored 92, Rajat Patidar scored 55 and Cameron Green scored 46 runs. From Punjab, Harshal Patel took 3 wickets and Vidwat Kawerappa took 2 wickets.

Punjab Kings were all out after scoring 181 runs in 17 overs. Riley Russo scored 61 runs for the team. Whereas Shashank Singh could score only 37 runs, Jonny Bairstow could score 27 runs and Sam Curran could score only 22 runs. Mohammad Siraj took 3 wickets from Bengaluru. Karn Sharma, Swapnil Singh and Lockie Ferguson took 2 wickets each.

Bengaluru scored 241 runs

Royal Challengers Bangalore has set a target of 242 runs for Punjab Kings. Batting first after losing the toss, Bengaluru scored 241 runs losing seven wickets in 20 overs. Harshal Patel took three wickets in the 20th over. He dismissed Dinesh Karthik, Mahipal Lomror and Cameron Green. Whereas, Virat Kohli played an inning of 92 runs in 47 balls. He hit seven fours and six sixes in his innings. Punjab had chased the biggest score in T20 cricket history this season. In such a situation, the match is not going to be easy for Bengaluru. Apart from Virat, Rajat Patidar scored 55 runs in 23 balls and Cameron Green scored 46 runs in 27 balls.
