Mumbai: Veteran Indian spinner Harbhajan Singh expressed shock after he received a hefty electricity bill. As per him, it is seven times more of what he normally pays. The cricketer from Punjab shared a text message received from the electricity department over Twitter and expressed his displeasure on the heavy bill issued.

Harbhajan started practicing for CSK earlier this year but since the lockdown is announced he was seen doing Instagram live sessions with his fellow cricketers and enjoying family time with his daughter.

As per the text message shared by the Chennai Super Kings star, the bill was of INR 33,900. He blasted the electricity provider Adani Electricity and sarcastically asked whether the bill of the whole neighborhood was sent to him. The star cricketer has been out of the International team for quite a long time now. The last time he played for men in blues was back in 2016, against UAE in Dubai.

The finger spinner is one of the most important members of CSK’s spin heavy side. The IPL team led by wicketkeeper Mahendra Singh Dhoni is full of experienced campaigners and Harbhajan is the senior-most in them. Bhajji who belongs to Jalandhar is staying in Mumbai during the lockdown with his family and should be looking forward to playing for CSK as IPL is expected to start from September 19th this year.

A lot of celebrities have shown their displeasure about hefty electricity bills they received in the recent past. Earlier this month, actress Taapsee Pannu has also shared a tweet for receiving a heavy bill of 36,000 for a house which is not even in use. Adani Electricity is yet to release a statement on the regular complaints on the large bills received in Maharashtra, however, it is speculated that this could be because of the lockdown as people are staying at home for a longer duration.
