Retentions will be announced shortly, with the fate of several prominent players at stake

The number of players who played last season will be revealed today. Some players have already been traded, but the fate of most will be decided today.

CSK's Big Decision

Before the retentions, Chennai Super Kings made a major decision. They traded Sanju Samson to Rajasthan Royals. Ravindra Jadeja and Sam Curran have joined the Rajasthan Royals.

Retentions to be announced soon

All teams will soon announce their retention lists for IPL 2026. Some players have already changed teams under the trade window. Therefore, the details of which players will be auctioned will be announced shortly.

The first step towards the new IPL season is coming to an end today. After days of rumors, speculation, and gossip, it will become clear which players are being retained and who will have to go to auction. The IPL 2026 retention deadline is approaching at 5 p.m., and all 10 franchises will present their latest squads. As always, several prominent players will be released.

This time, a mini-auction is being held, so there are no retention restrictions for any franchise. This means each franchise can retain as many players as they wish. The fees for the players released will be added to the franchise's auction purse, which they can use during the auction.
