Russia-Ukraine War: Early Saturday, the Russian military launched massive missile and drone strikes on various regions of Ukraine, killing at least three people and injuring several others. According to Ukrainian officials, Russia carried out the massive attack using 619 drones and more than 50 ballistic and cruise missiles. The attacks caused massive devastation in several regions of Ukraine, targeting infrastructure, residential areas, and non-governmental establishments.Attacks in Nine Ukrainian RegionsUkrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that the attacks occurred in nine regions, including Dnipropetrovsk, Mykolaiv, Chernihiv, Zaporizhia, Poltava, Kyiv, Odessa, Sumy, and Kharkiv. "Russia's goal is to destroy our infrastructure and civilian areas. This attack is not motivated by military necessity, but is part of Russia's strategy to intimidate civilians and weaken our resources," he said in a statement on his official Telegram channel.Zelenskyy stated that a multi-story building in the city of Dnipro was hit by a missile equipped with cluster munitions, damaging several high-rise buildings and houses. Local Governor Serhiy Lysak stated that at least 26 people were injured in the attack in the Dnipropetrovsk region.Ukraine's Air Defense ResponseThe Ukrainian Air Force claimed to have shot down or disabled 552 of the 619 drones, two ballistic missiles, and 29 cruise missiles fired by Russia. The Ukrainian military demonstrated the strength of its defense system, stating that it was repelling the Russian attacks.Meeting with Trump at the UN General AssemblyZelenskyy stated that he looks forward to meeting US President Donald Trump during the UN General Assembly next week. Zelenskyy called for raising the issue on the international stage to mobilize global support against Russian aggression.Russia accused of violating Estonian airspaceMeanwhile, Russia has been accused of violating Estonian airspace. Estonian officials reported that three Russian fighter jets hovered in their airspace for 12 minutes without permission on Friday. The Russian Defense Ministry has denied these allegations. In response, Estonia summoned a Russian diplomat and proposed starting consultations with allies under NATO's Article 4. This article states that NATO allies will consult if a member state's territorial integrity, political independence, or security is threatened.
