TV / Shaheer Sheikh & Ruchikaa Kapoor tie the knot, opt for court marriage

Mumbai: Television hearthrob Shaheer Sheikh is now officially married! The actor tied the knot with his fiance Ruchikaa Kapoor a few days back. The couple had a court marriage and are planning a traditional wedding in June 2021 - around the time COVID-19 situation is expected to improve.

For the uninformed, Ruchikaa is the head of Ekta Kapoor's Balaji Telefilms' Films division. After their wedding, Shaheer and Ruchikaa celebrated the occasion with their respective families. They first flew down to Jammu to meet Sheikh's parents, followed by another ceremony at Ruchikaa's house in Mumbai.

Talking about his relationship in an interview with Bombay Times, Shaheer said that Ruchikaa has been honest about her feelings and that they are friends first.

"Being an actor, I have to pretend in front of the camera all the time, but I have found a partner with whom I get to be myself. I’ve always said that I’m a ‘wanderer’ and I’ve finally found the right companion. I am looking forward to my never-ending travels with her," he shared.

Ruchikaa, on the other hand, said that Shaheer's 'simplicity and honesty' drew her towards him. She shared that the two might be different, but they choose to celebrate that rather than focusing on it.

"We may make little sense to the world, but we make a lot of sense to each other," Kapoor exclaimed during her interview.

Shaheer and Ruchikaa were seen together on the sets of Ekta Kapoor-produced 'Judgementall Hai Kyaa', starring Kangana Ranaut and Rajkummar Rao in the lead roles.

While Ruchikaa was actively involved in the filming with Ekta, Shaheer was also snapped on the sets of the film. He also joined the team quite often for dinners.

The couple, reportedly, met for the first time on the sets of the film, two years back. They were believed to be in a relationship for a year and a half before making it official.
