Jason Roy (10) was also not seen and his wicket was picked up by Shivam Mavi. After losing the wickets of both the openers, the team was expected to captain Kane Williamson (26), but he too returned to the dressing room after being run out. The wicket of Abhishek Sharma (10) came in Shakib Al Hasan's account.

  • Till the powerplay, Hyderabad's score was 35-2.
  • Half of the SRH team returned to the pavilion on the score of 70.
  • Abdul Samad (25) was the top scorer for the team in this match.
  • Shivam Mavi, Varun Chakravarthy and Tim Southee took 2-2 wickets for KKR.
  • This was Hyderabad's fourth lowest score in the IPL.
  • Important match for KKR
This match is very important for the Kolkata team led by ON Morgan. Kolkata have 10 points from 12 matches. By winning the next two matches from here, the team will secure a place in the playoffs. The Kane Williamson-led Hyderabad team has 4 points from 11 matches. The doors of playoff are already closed for Hyderabad, but Hyderabad definitely has a chance to spoil Kolkata's party.

In the last season too, Hyderabad had ousted Kolkata.

Hyderabad's last match in the last season was against Mumbai. Kolkata would have had an advantage if Mumbai had won that match, but Hyderabad had then defeated Mumbai and made it out of the playoffs. Hyderabad has been the weakest performer this season, but the team has at least made a lot of improvement in the bowling from the last few matches.

Net run rate in favor of Kolkata

Kolkata team is currently competing with Mumbai, Punjab and Rajasthan for a top-4 finish. Although the net run rate of the team is +0.302. If these teams finish the league stage on equal points, then Kolkata can benefit.
