Indian Cricket Team: BCCI has decided to give a special award to the young batsman of the Indian cricket team, Shubhman Gill. BCCI gives awards every year in which players who do well throughout the year are honoured. Considering Gill's performance last year, BCCI has chosen him as the best Indian cricketer of the year. BCCI will give these awards on Tuesday in Hyderabad. BCCI will also give a special award to former Indian team coach Ravi Shastri. BCCI has decided to give Life Time Achievement Award to Shastri. Shastri was the coach of Team India from 2017 to 2021.

How was Gill's year 2023?

Gill played six Test matches in the year 2023 in which he scored 258 runs at an average of 28.66. During this period a century came from his bat. Gill batted fiercely in ODIs in the year 2023. In this format, Gill played 29 matches and scored 1584 runs at an average of 63.36. This year, five centuries and nine half-centuries came from his bat. In T20, Gill played 13 matches this year and scored 126 runs at an average of 26. In this format he scored one century and one half-century.

Shastri will get life time achievement

BCCI has decided to give life time achievement to former coach and captain of Team India Ravi Shastri. Team India had performed brilliantly when Shastri was the coach. The team defeated Australia twice in a row in the Test series at home. Apart from this, the team played brilliantly on foreign soil. The team reached the semi-finals of the 2019 World Cup. Earlier, Shastri had become the director of the team in 2014. Shastri played 80 Test and 150 ODI matches for India. He played cricket for India from 1981 to 1992.
