Gill Breaks Rohit Sharma's WTC Record

With this century, Shubman Gill has etched his name in history as the Indian batsman with the most centuries in the World Test Championship (WTC). This marks his 10th WTC century, effectively breaking Rohit Sharma's previous record of 9 centuries. Gill is now the first Indian player to reach 10 centuries in the WTC, a testament to his consistent performance and exceptional form in Test cricket.

Surpassing Babar Azam as Captain

Not only did Gill break Rohit's overall WTC century record, but he also surpassed both Rohit Sharma and Pakistan's Babar Azam in another significant milestone. Gill now holds the record for the most WTC centuries as a captain among Indian players. This is his fifth century as captain in the WTC, while both Rohit Sharma and Babar Azam have four centuries each as captains in the championship.
