Karnataka CM / Siddaramaiah takes oath as CM and DK Shivakumar as Deputy CM

Karnataka CM: In Karnataka, Siddaramaiah took oath as CM and DK Shivakumar took oath as Deputy CM. All party leaders including Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi attended the swearing-in ceremony. Sonia Gandhi could not attend the ceremony as she is not well. The swearing-in ceremony is being held at the Sree Kanteerava Stadium in Bengaluru.

Meanwhile, the names of 8 MLAs have come to the fore, who are going to take oath as ministers today.

Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge has approved 8 names, who will take oath as ministers today. The list of ministers has been prepared keeping in mind the representatives of communities, regions, factions and the old and new generation of legislators. Siddaramaiah comes from the Kuruba community and DK Shivakumar is a Vokkalinga. Apart from these, Lingayat, Christian, Adivasi, Muslim, Reddy, Dalit – all have been given representation in the first list.

These eight MLAs will be ministers in Karnataka government

The eight names include G Parameshwara (SC), KH Muniyappa (SC), Priyank Kharge (SC), KJ George (Minority-Christian), MB Patil (Lingayat), Satish Jarkiholi (ST-Valmiki), Ramalinga Reddy (Reddy), and BZ Zameer Ahmed Khan from the Muslim community will take oath as minister. Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge himself will be present at the swearing-in ceremony. Priyank Kharge is his son, will become a minister in Karnataka government today.
