IND vs SL | The 3-match T20I series between India and Sri Lanka will begin with the first match to be played on February 24 at the Ekana Stadium in Lucknow. While Team India will be eyeing to maintain their dominance over the guests, Sri Lanka will take the field with the intention of winning the first T20I series in India. In 2009, India played a T20I series against Sri Lanka for the first time at home. Since then, a total of four T20 series have been played on Indian soil and every time Team India has managed to hoist the tricolor.

The two-match T20 series played in 2009 ended in a 1-1 draw. After this Sri Lanka came on the Indian tour in 2016 and in the three-match T20 series, they could win only one match. India won that series 2-1.

The next year in 2017 again the Lankan team toured India and this time they had to face a 3–0 defeat in the three-match T20 series. Rohit Sharma was the top scorer in this series with 162 runs, while India also made their highest score in an innings with 260 runs.

After 2017, this team played a 3-match T20 series against India in 2020 and they lost the series 0-2. One T20 was washed out due to rain.

Sri Lanka has played a total of 11 T20 matches in India so far in which Team India has dominated by winning 8 matches. Since 2017, the visiting team has not won a single match.
