Stock Market / Strong fall in the stock market, Sensex fell by 900 points, Nifty came below 16600

The stock market opened with a fall on Wednesday, the third trading day of the week. In the early trade, both the indices of the market were seen trading on the red mark. The 30-share Sensex of the Bombay Stock Exchange opened with a loss of 697 points at 55,549, while the Nifty index of the National Stock Exchange lost 187 points to start trading at 16,606.

At present, the Sensex is trading at the level of 55,329, slipping 918 points. On the other hand, Nifty has also come below the level of 16,600 and is trading at the level of 16,552 with a fall of 232 points. Significantly, on Tuesday, the stock market was closed on the occasion of Mahashivratri festival. On the other hand, the BSE Sensex closed at 56,247 with a gain of 389 points on Monday, while the Nifty of NSE closed at 16,787 with a gain of 129 points.
