In fact, former cricketer Venkatesh Prasad had condemned the burning of Nupur Sharma's effigy and said that he cannot believe that it is happening in 21st century India. He urged the protesting people to leave politics and use discretion.

What did Swara say by tweeting

On Venkatesh Prasad's tweet, Swara said, 'Agree with this. I hope all of us sane people feel the same fear over beef lynching… and when a poor migrant laborer was burnt alive on suspicion of alleged love jihad in Rajsamand, Rajasthan. It's a mannequin they were real people. Our fear should not be based on identity.

Mahatma Gandhi's example

In another tweet, Swara writes, 'Violence... apart from being wrong, defames the methods of justice and legitimate reasons. Violence... is inhuman, immoral and a bad political strategy. No one could understand this better than Mahatma Gandhi. Inciting the victims to violence is like a trap. Don't fall into it.'
