IND vs PAK | The Indian team, captained by Virat Kohli, extended their support to the 'Black Lives Matter' movement by kneeling on their knees ahead of the T20 World Cup match against arch-rivals Pakistan. Before Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul stepped out to bat, Indian players kneeled outside the team dugout to support the global campaign. Pakistani cricketers supported the campaign by placing their hands on their hearts.

The match between India and Pakistan is going on in the T20 World Cup being played in UAE and Oman. In this match, Pakistan captain Babar Azam won the toss and decided to bowl first. India has set a target of 152 runs to win against Pakistan on the basis of captain Virat Kohli's strong captaincy innings of 57 runs. Apart from him, wicket-keeper batsman Rishabh Pant also played an important innings of 39 runs. Shaheen Shah Afridi took three wickets for Pakistan.

This is the first time the Indian cricket team has expressed support in this way. Since the death of African American George Floyd at the hands of a policeman in the US in May last year, players around the world have kneeled on their knees and expressed support for this movement against racism.

Earlier, England also supported the West Indies in the fight against racism by the players in the Group-1 match of the Super-12 round. Players of both the teams had given a message of solidarity against racism by kneeling before the match.
