IND vs ENG / Team India did special practice before the second test, practiced with two colored balls

After the defeat in the Leeds Test, Indian bowlers are practicing with two coloured balls for the second Test to be held at Edgbaston from July 2. Jaspreet Bumrah started practicing with half white, half red ball. Assistant coach Ryan Ten Doeschate said, this practice helps in improving limited overs habits. Akash Deep or Arshdeep Singh can play in place of Jaspreet Bumrah.

IND vs ENG: After the defeat in the first Test match at Leeds, the Indian cricket team has geared up for the second Test match. This match will be played at Edgbaston from July 02. Indian fast bowlers were seen practicing with two colored balls in the practice session. Especially Jasprit Bumrah started bowling with a half white and half red ball, after which other bowlers also used this unique ball. Now the question arises that why did the Indian bowlers practice with two colored balls? Let's know the reason behind this.

Disappointing performance of Indian bowlers in the first Test

In the first Test match, except Jasprit Bumrah, no Indian fast bowler could perform effectively. Bowlers like Mohammad Siraj and Prasidh Krishna were seen deviating from their line and length. The main reason for this was the return to Test cricket after a long time and the habits of bowling in the short format of IPL. To overcome this deficiency, Indian bowlers started practicing with two colored balls from the beginning of the England tour. This practice is helping them to adjust to the line and length of the red ball of Test cricket.

Why use two colored balls?

Team India's assistant coach Ryan Ten Doeschate made a big statement on this unique practice after the practice session. He said, "Practicing with two colored balls helps to improve the limited overs habits of bowlers. This is not a new technique; all ball manufacturers make such balls. Our goal is to adapt the bowlers to the red ball of Test cricket." He also told that the bowlers have been using this technique for the last two weeks under the supervision of bowling coach Morne Morkel. This practice is proving to be very useful especially for the players returning to Test cricket after a long IPL season.

Chances of change in playing XI in Edgbaston Test

There may be some changes in the playing XI of the Indian team in the second Test match to be held at Edgbaston. According to reports, fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah may be rested in this match due to workload management. Either Akash Deep or Arshdeep Singh can get a chance in his place. Apart from this, Team India can field two spinners in this Test, which will bring more variety to the bowling attack.
