In the quarter-final match of the ICC Under 19 World Cup 2022, Team India registered a vital 5-wicket victory against Bangladesh and entered the semi-finals of the tournament.

Bangladesh's innings was reduced to just 111

Indian captain Yash Dhull won the toss and decided to bowl first, which was very successful. A brilliant opening spell from left-arm pacer Ravi Kumar helped India bundle out defending champions Bangladesh for 111 runs in 37.1 overs in the final quarter-finals of the ICC Under-19 World Cup.

Ravi Kumar wreaked havoc

Born in UP and son of a CRPF jawan, Ravi Kumar follows in the footsteps of his state's senior Mohammed Shami and plays for Bengal. He took three wickets for 14 runs from a maiden in seven overs on a difficult pitch for the batsmen.

Difficult to score 100 runs

Bangladesh's team had lost seven wickets for 56 runs at one point, after which SM Mehrob (30) and Ashfir Zaman (16) added 50 runs for the 8th wicket to take the team ahead of 100 runs. This is the same ground in which Afghanistan defended their low score of 134 runs against Sri Lanka in the first quarterfinal.

No Bangladesh player could survive

In the second over, Ravi Kumar bowled Mahfizul Islam (02) on his inswinger. His opening partner Iftakher Hussain (01) tried to make a square cut on the slow ball and was caught on point by Indian vice-captain Sheikh Rashid. Prantik Navroz (07) was not comfortable at the crease and after touching the bat on Ravi's outgoing ball, caught Kaushal Tambe in the slips and reached the pavilion.

Great bowling by Vicky Ostwal

Bangladesh's score in the 8th over was 3 for 14, after which they lost wickets at frequent intervals. Left-arm Indian spinner Vicky Ostwal (1 maiden in 9 overs and 2 wickets for 25 runs) also bowled accurately and it was not easy for the opposing batsmen to play them. But the credit for stopping Bangladesh till this score goes to Ravi Kumar.

Best batting by Angkrish Raghuvanshi

Chasing the target of 112 runs, Team India got the first blow in the second over when Harnoor Singh returned to the pavilion without opening an account. After this, opener Angkrish Raghuvanshi showed great restraint and scored 44 runs in 65 balls with the help of 7 fours and took the team's score to 70 runs in the 20th over.

India's score was 75/3

After the dismissal of Angkrish Raghuvanshi, Vice Captain Sheikh Rasheed also could not last long and was caught out on a personal score of 26 runs. Then India's score was reduced to 75/3 in 21.1 overs.

The middle order was starting to falter

After this, Siddharth Yadav and Raj Bawa scored 6 and zero runs respectively, due to which India's score became 95/5 in 25.1 overs, due to which a little pressure started on Team India, Although then the target was just 17 runs away. Captain Yash won by 5 wickets

After this, Indian captain Yash Dhull played an innings of 20 runs to get the team out of trouble. Kushal Tambe also completed the rest by scoring 11 runs and Team India won by 5 wickets.
