Team India New Coach: The Indian cricket team is ready for the T20 World Cup to be held in the month of June. The Indian squad has also been announced for the tournament. Meanwhile, an update has come out. In which BCCI Secretary Jai Shah has informed that Team India may get a new head coach after June. Jay Shah revealed in Mumbai on Wednesday that the Board of Control for Cricket in India will soon issue an advertisement for a new coach. Actually, at present Rahul Dravid is the head coach of Team India, but his tenure is till June. In such a situation, Team India is already looking for a head coach, so that the right person can be selected for this post in time.

India may get a new head coach

BCCI Secretary said that Rahul's tenure is only till June. So if he wants to apply, he is free to do so. Other members of the coaching staff, such as batting, bowling and fielding coaches, will be selected after consultation with the new coach. Shah did not rule out the possibility of a foreign coach and did not give any specific answer on the issue. The BCCI official said that we cannot decide whether the new coach will be an Indian or a foreigner. It will depend on CAC and we are an international organisation.

He indicated that the board is unlikely to consider different coaches for different formats. This formula has been adopted by boards like the England and Wales Cricket Board and even Pakistan. Shah has confirmed that the new coach will be appointed for a long term and will serve for an initial period of three years.

Shah's statement on impact player rule

Shah also expressed his opinion on the continuation of the impact player rule in the Indian Premier League and said that a decision on this will be taken after consultation with the captains and coaches. However, he stressed the importance of the rule, which allows two additional Indian players to be in the playing 11 of an IPL team. When he was asked that this rule could harm all-rounders, he insisted that this is giving a chance to two new Indian players in the IPL. He said that we will discuss with all the franchises before taking a decision on continuing the Impact Player rule. It's not permanent, but no one has reacted against the rule.
